Curling Has Been Fantastic!
Well, my first season of curling has been fantastic. I learned a new skill, made new friends and even though I fell a couple of times, that embarrassment has since passed.
Surprisingly enough, my team was top scoring in our league. This means that we advanced to the play-offs, which we won.
It all came down to the championship round, playing a more advanced and competitive team. The game was tied most of time and of course, it all came down to our last rock.
All we had to do was get the rock as close to the center (the button) as possible. We were half an inch too far…We lost.
Luckily, the winners bought us losers a drink, so that made the pain of losing a little better.
It may take a while for me to get over that loss, but with slo-pitch season starting, it’ll soon be history.
Gardening/ lawn care season must be upon us because my irises and crocuses have already started to bloom despite the threat of freezing rain we are expecting.
What spring-time bloom is your favourite?
How do you plan to keep your blooms safe from inclement weather?
